Opening Reception

In my garage, I sit in front of a blank canvas resting on a paint-stained easel. Surrounding me is a mess of materials, a busy baby in a playpen, and two kids doing laps on scooters. Let’s not forget to mention the cat at my feet desperate for attention. Amongst the chaos, I turn on some music and set out to produce my strongest body of work yet.
Despite the changing studio environment over the years, I’m still driven to push the boundaries of traditional landscape art. My process is a fast-paced mixture of relaxed mark-making and rigid hard lines. Each brush stroke is equally intentional; representing the peaks and valleys of my experiences. Thus, with boldness, I paint the vast vibrancy of nature as if each scene is rooted in me.
Like coming into the world, this fifteen-piece collection, "JOURNEY" took nine months to complete. It’s a celebration of reaching a decade as a professional artist and honors the hundreds of landscapes I've created that have become the stepping stones on this brave and beautiful journey of my life.
